Review of ‘Ardalia: The Breath of Aoles’ by Alan Spade

The Breath of Aoles (Ardalia #1)The Breath of Aoles by Alan Spade

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a great fantasy book. I must admit that in the very beginning this book was a tad bit overwhelming with the unfamiliar names and terms, but once I was passed that I was so immersed into this whole other world that I just couldn’t put the book down.

Spade is very talented, the depth and intricacy of this story is phenomenal. The character design and development is quite flawless and I became quite attached to Pelmen.

Pelmen had a rough go at life in the beginning so he struggled to get away from his family and had quite the adventurous time getting to the beginning of his new life.

Soon after starting his new life, his friends befall a terrible fate and Pelmen and his uncle decide to try and help not only Pelmen’s friends but the countless others that have disappeared.

As Pelmen and his uncle begin their journey, we meet more fascinating creatures and people that each bring something to the story. They encounter many adventures and mishaps along they way. They join with allies and fight enemies. This is an entirely different world of people and beings.
