Review of ‘Elixir’ by Ted Galdi

ElixirElixir by Ted Galdi

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was an unique book. I enjoyed meeting Sean. He is an extraordinary 14 year old boy with an IQ above 250. He had some luck on Jeopardy and was now rich and famous. Fame was hard, he just wanted to live his life, but everyone always recognizes him. Sometimes he wishes he could just be normal, like everyone else.

Due to his intelligence, he ends up in trouble with the Government, even though he didn’t do anything wrong. This leads to a complete change in his life and he gets his wish. He gets to start over where no one knows who he really is. He gets to just be normal. He lives with his aunt and blames his intelligence for his parents death.

Sean, now an 18 year old man, finally finds happiness. His happiness is short lived when his girlfriend becomes infected with a deadly virus. Sean will go to the end of the world and back to find a way to cure her. As Sean fights to obtain the ingredients needed to develop the cure, he has to face many dangers.

This book is well written and I enjoyed the characters. They were all unique and well developed. The story kept a smooth and steady pace with just the right amount of action and twist to keep me from putting the book down.

Great read!
