Give Me Your Answer True (The Fish Tales, #2)Give Me Your Answer True by Suanne Laqueur

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

After reading The Man I Love, I was really disappointed in Daisy. I really felt for Erik and I couldn’t believe that she could betray him like she did. After all the two had been through, for their relationship to come to such an abrupt end was a slap in the face.

This book picks up a few years after the first one and is told from Daisy’s point of view. This book really helped me bond with Daisy. I am happy that the book wasn’t a complete overlap (like writing The Man I Love again only from Daisy’s perspective). I enjoy how much of Daisy’s story was told through flashbacks as she talks to her therapist Rita. I appreciated how this one picked up where we really lost Daisy in The Man I Love. I felt bad for Daisy and ended up almost being mad at Erik for being a silent jerk for so many years.

One morning, after staying up too late reading, I was driving to work and Adele’s new song, “Hello” came on the radio and I could not believe how well Adele told Daisy’s story. It was incredible.

This book answered so many questions and gave me a sense of closure. Laqueur does an amazing job on character development and relationship building. Her way with words is astounding and creates a sincere and realistic environment. Now I am looking forward to starting the third book to see the next chapter in Daisy and Erik’s life.
