Review of ‘Here To Stay (The Fish Tales, Book 3) by Suanne Laqueur

Here to Stay (The Fish Tales, #3)Here to Stay by Suanne Laqueur

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Not being a huge romance reader, I was a bit skeptical when I picked up the first book in this series, but the story line did sound interesting and I gave it a shot. I fell in love with the characters in that first book. By the end, I felt bad for Eric and almost hated Daisy. This is more than a romance novel. This is a well written and realistic love story.

When the second book came out, I was eager to see where Laqueur would take us. I was able to see a whole new side to Daisy and I then felt bad for her and became mad at Eric for not talking to her and ignoring her all those years. He could’ve at least given her 5 minutes to say she was sorry.

So now, after two books, each one inspiring different feelings towards Eric and Daisy. I dove right into the third book. I was so excited that Daisy and Eric finally found each other again. I was hopeful that they would be able to work through their residual issues and start over.

One thing I love the most about this romance series is that it is realistic. It’s not filled with characters that could be you or your neighbors. The characters are normal people, living their lives and they make mistakes. This is not a love story where you meet your prince and live happily ever after. This could be a real life and I like that. I feel it made me connect more with the characters and that I could relate with their flaws and their sorrows.

Laqueur does an amazing job with character development and interaction. Her realistic approach to this novel is refreshing while including just enough romance and fireworks to feel the love between Eric and Daisy. I would definitely read more from this author.
