Review of ‘Mirror Worlds’ by Simon Beecher

Mirror Worlds (Mirror World, #1)Mirror Worlds by Simon Beecher

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

First we meet Chloe and learn of the tragedy that has surrounded her from the loss of her parents to the loss of her daughter. Her jerk of a husband left her after the loss of their daughter and she is thrust into an independent and solitary existence. Chloe had a strange encounter after she learned of her daughters death and she took off running. This is when she discovered that running was a freeing activity where she could clear her head and leave her troubles behind.

As Chloe is settled into her new life, she encounters a strange bunch of people, who they reveal are lycans and they want her to join them. There is something special about Chloe and they want her on their side to fight against the vampires.

Chloe has her own motives and seeks out the vampires after the lycans refuse to help her get revenge on her daughters killer. She makes a pact with a powerful vampire and now Chloe is stuck in a precarious situation. As the days tick by she is anxiously waiting to discover who will come for her first, the vampires or the lycans.

The story flows at a fast and even pace. It keeps you engaged and moving forward. I really enjoyed Chloe’s character and can’t wait to see how she develops in the future books. She is brave and smart. The author put in enough history to give you a good back story and an understanding of the lycans and the vampires.

The characters were well written and the story is unique and interesting. I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in this series and see where the author’s unique ideas take Chloe and the rest of them.
