Review of ‘Monster’ by Kayti Nika Raet

Monster (The Outsider Chronicles Book 4)Monster by Kayti Nika Raet

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

After Niko and her makeshift gang as taken over the city of Cherai, they are determined to make it more fair and give everyone an equal chance of survival. The doors to the city are opened and people are able to move freely. The slither hunters patrol on the outside of the city walls also, so that they can keep those outside the walls safe from slithers also.

It isn’t always easy to create a fair and open environment and Niko quickly realizes this. Upon the councilwoman’s return, things start to shift and not for the better. Once slither hunters start to become the target of slaughter, something has to be done.

Niko and others must set off on a dangerous adventure to another city, in search of reinforcements. During this story, there is loss and sadness, there is love and passion, and there is some downright scary moments. We are able to see characters in a new light, and see their bravery and character shine through. Raet does a great job of developing the characters and banding them together all in the sake of saving Cherai.

All the Songhay lovers will be immensely happy with this installment of the series. There is fast paced action and thrilling adventures in this book. Once you pick it up, you will not want to put it down.

Can’t wait to read the next one!!!
