Review of ‘The Maltese Felon (The Reed Ferguson Mystery Series, Book 3)’ by Renee Pawlish

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a great Private Investigator mystery novel. From the beginning I was hooked. I was quite intrigued when the story opened up with a dog being dog-napped and that the owners wanted to hire a PI to help them.

This was a humorous, action packed mystery that left you guessing. The main character and PI, Reed, seems a bit clumsy at times making the book all the more interesting.

We follow Reed as he interferes, unintentionally not just once, but twice with a ransom drop. You would think his luck had run out, but it hadn’t and soon he is hot on the trail of the dog-nappers.

This novel will take you on twists and turns on your way to discovering who the criminals are. It is an easy to read story and once it captivates your attention you will not want to put it down.

I did enjoy the characters of this story, the goofball brothers and the homebody geek that Reed relies on. Plus, if Reed is lucky, he might even discover a little romance throughout his struggles during this case.
