To Kill an Assassin: The Priors, Part 2To Kill an Assassin: The Priors, Part 2 by Weston Kincade

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

So Kincade did a phenomenal job setting the stage for book 2. After reading book 1, I was hooked and couldn’t wait to dive into the second one.

The continuation of Madelin’s journey to discovering her own abilities as well as beginning to explore the others around her is a scary and interesting task. Roger goes through major changes in the second book and we discover more about Daniel and Jedd. Kincade really takes his characters deeper in this book as far as abilities and self-discovery.

As the group is separated for a time, each side undergoes their own unique adventure and fight for survival. Leodenin is still a major threat to them and we have watched his character change and evolve over the last two books also. He really is a strong villain and I often wonder how they are ever going to defeat him?

Full of action, discovery and conflict, Kincade is definitely one of the most creative and unique writers I have read. His stories are well crafted and delivered beautifully. It is a fun and enjoyable read and I love connecting with the characters. The detail and descriptions are well placed and help you see the story around you. There is even a little romance amongst the fighting and surviving!

If there is a plan for a part 3, and I sure hope there is, I will be waiting patiently (okay, impatiently) for it!
