Review of ‘We Are The Entombed (Dext of the Dead, #3)’ by Steve Kuhn

We Are The Entombed (Dext of the Dead, #3)We Are The Entombed by Steve Kuhn

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The third installment starts off with them getting a Freightliner started which they reinforce to make it more secure against zombies and other people.

As they make their way scavenging for supplies, they end up saving two more people, one being a 5 year old girl named Lilly. The group goes out of their way to try and find her parents, but have no success. So Lilly, along with her babysitter Dana are now along for the ride.

Throughout this book, everyone sees over Lilly and becomes her parent in some way or another. And, of course, everyone has their own opinion on how Lilly should be raised. Cutty and JC especially come to grow very found of the little girl and will die trying to protect her.

They come across another group of people that have a pretty good set up and they are welcomed into the community. It seems almost too good to be true. Of course it is, and it isn’t long before they end up leaving that community and head back out on the road.

The group experiences an upheaval of emotions and to show their true loyalty as they band together when one or all of their group is threatened. We also get to meet Hook and Alyse who quickly become part of the family.

The character development continues in a positive successful way. Dana is annoying, but life wouldn’t be realistic if you didn’t have one of those every now and then. JC is coming around a little bit more and I am quite impressed with his changing ways. Dext, continues to tell all, showing his thoughts and how he is ever changing as the loss, trauma and struggles continue.

The story is written just at the right pace, enough to keep me engaged and wanting to keep reading. As soon as I was done with the third book, I started right into the 4th.

Can’t wait to see what happens next!
