The Demeter Code by Russell Brooks
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
At the beginning of this book we are introduced to several different characters and are given a glimpse into their lives. It isn’t long before the characters and their stories begin to intersect, uncovering the trials that the CIA agents, Fox and Parris are going through to obtain assets and find a terrorist.
Fox is undercover and is getting close when he is ambushed by a group of thieves but it doesn’t take long for them to track them down, with the help of their team.
Fox and Parris find what they are looking for, but unfortunately it is damaged and no longer useful. However, they gain Sparks. She has a pretty convincing story that Fox wants to look into but Parris just wants to turn her over to the FBI.
This book will take you through cover-ups, murders, corporate espionage, terrorism and undercover CIA agents. The characters are complex and well designed. The storyline is interesting and well paced.
I thought the terrorists attacks were creatively planned and described in great detail. The relationships between the characters was realistic and I found them easy to relate to.
This book has many plot twists and turns that kept me guessing. Just when I thought I had figured something out, a curve ball came out of nowhere. The story was written in great detail, across different countries and many different places.
I enjoyed the Fox/Parris duo and look forward to reading more from this author.
