The Phoenix Syndrome by Claire Gem
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This book isn’t normally up my usual reading alley, but when I received the review request, it sounded interesting so I gave it a shot. This book was incredible. Lannie is an easily lovable character and you feel her pain right away. She is a tough, strong willed character who has given up so much that when she finally decides to live her life, you will be in the background cheering her on.
After obsessing over a famous drummer of her son’s favorite band, she finds herself in an interesting once in a lifetime position and she jumps at the opportunity. The book is filled with, thrills, love, betrayal, and the struggles of a woman who is trying to find herself and her life as it would’ve been before she gave everything up for her cheating husband and their child.
This book is well written, and keeps the reader engaged throughout its entirety. I am not a huge fan of romance novels, but this book and Lannie won me over. I enjoyed following her story and watching her work through her struggles and overcome the misfortunes she endeared.
