Blood Moon Sacrifice by Ed Ireland
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Vespias is back in this second book and let me say that Mr. Ireland sure knows how to keep a captive audience. I have also read his Chronicles of the Free People and I enjoy both series. Mr. Ireland has sure opened me up to a new genre of books to read and I am so happy to be a loyal and lifelong fan!
This book does not lack anything. In the beginning, Vespias is quite literally a drunken mess. She is trying to fill the void that her many losses from the first book left. It isn’t long before there are threats facing all the different people and they must come together to fight. Vespias becomes General of the Rangers again and falls fluidly back into the leadership role. She commands a certain amount of power and respect from her people and it is quite envious. Vespias has a way of strategizing and bringing different races together.
This book is filled with pain, love, anger, hate and happiness. In this book there will be new loves acquired, new relationships formed and alliances forged among the many different people. They all come together to fight off a few different enemies all trying to take advantage and gain the upper hand.
Mr. Ireland does a fantastic job of creating worlds. This world is intriguing and I am amazed at all of the different types of people, cities and the characters that are incorporated in the book. I love the fact that I can read these books and not get lost or overwhelmed in the world even though there is so much. Mr. Ireland writes in a manner that is easy to follow and understand. His creativeness is something to look up to. His fight scenes are incredibly detailed and well written.
These books, as well as the Chronicles of the Free People, will satisfy any audience.
